Unlimited Gravity AKA Ronnie Weberg is an up and coming glitch hop producer from Denver, Colorado. I discovered him a few months ago and have been particularly impressed by him as of late. He first caught my interest with his 7 track compilation 'All Day Every Day'. When it comes to Unlimited Gravity you can expect crisp, clean production quality, rich melodic texture, a bassline that bangs and his characteristic synths that make the tracks instantly memorable. Plus all his tunes are at least 5 minutes long which is DOPE because I never want them to end..
Krispy has been a DJ in and around the area of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for approximately 5 years now. It started at a “learn to become a hip hop DJ class” in the beginning. However, the true interest was always in electronic music. It was then that Krispy met DJ Floorlayer and was taught how to truly refine his style as an electronic DJ.
Taking influence from a variety of artists such as Hatiras, Stupid Fresh, AC Slater, JELO, Excision, Zodiac Cartel, Electric Soulside, Noisia, Nero…. The list goes on to really create a diverse style with many different types of influences and genres.
Beginning as a vinyl hard house DJ, the style gradually evolved to CDJ’s and electro house over the years. And, more recently, the style has been dubstep/drum and bass.
Krispy has played at various clubs within the city of Edmonton over the years as well as Motion Notion Music Festival in Drayton Valley, Alberta this year. Also, more notably, he has had 2 guest appearances on the dubFWD radio (88.9FM) show in Baltimore this year.
His latest accomplishment was having the electro house style tune, “Swamp Step”, signed to the Transendance label. This marks the first successful year of being a producer. More productions are in the works leaning towards the electro and dubstep genres.
Expect many more releases and upcoming shows to come in the future from this exciting and diverse electronic artist.

My boy and one of the illest DJ's in Canada, MTA [Mat The Alien] just finished rollin out the heavyweight dubstep treatment on Nick Thayers "Let It Go" single released on the world reknowned Passenger imprint.
In another absolute atrocity of a top 100, Armin Van Buuren once again takes home the crown. DJ Mag again over looks a plethora of talented, innovative, progressive, and genre evolving visionaries. They opt instead to continue a downward trend of glorifying music for the lowest common denominator and simply ignore actual performance skills. Not only that but the only two non house/trance DJ's are Andy C and John B. Ive seen both of those artist many times and while Andy C holds it down with the best in the world John B is much more skilled in the realms of production and not the most amazing selector out there. This list makes no sense to me and I feel as though this is a testament to the current pitifull state of a large part of electronic music. I honestly can not think of enough negative things to say or words that properly express what a loss this is for electronic music as a whole.

At first it was intrigue and jokes, then it was pure skepticism and confusion, followed up by more skepticism and a few sips of the hater juice...

The specialist is just that, a selector that selects only the best of the best. With an emphasis on bottom heavy beats, you'll hear everything from house, dnb, dubstep, and hip hop.... roll out the speakers for serious power and precision timing. Having played alongside Freq Nasty, Fort Knox 5, Jack Beats, 16 Bit, Fake Blood, South Rakkas crew, Rye Rye, Capital J, and AC Slater, he's no stranger to the lime light and this is just the beginning. Studio savvy as well so keep your ear to the ground for original exclusives in his ever evolving dj sets.

In the ever growing sea of generic sounding producers that are putting time into their DAW and pumping out "dance floor bangers" all using the exact same VST's and Vengeance Samples, how does one define an original sound for themselves anymore? This website put together a list of 170+ ways to get yourself thinking outside the box and use different ways to come up with ideas.
I also came across This Website which follows the same kind of idea as the last website but instead of listing all of the tips, you pick a random card from the deck and go with it.
I wish Fred was in my house, but then I'd have glitchy bangers keeping me up till 5am every night. As wonderful as that might sound for Saturday and Sunday mornings during the week it would lead to a pissed off boss, lack of employment and no beer fund.
In lieu, I've got a link for a taste of glitchy awesomeness. It's just right for personal consumption through your Itunes, Ipod, Itouch, Iphone, Ipad'd out Ilife. If you like what you hear, drop a few dollars for his time and efforts. Remember! Support your artists!
http://freddytodd.bandcamp.com/ "Hold Tight" is my favorite off of the release. Check out the Missy E drop half way through the track!
On a more serious note. Keep your ears peeled for this guy. He doesn't ram out tons of tunes so anything that drops should be grabbed fast.
If you like deep melodic drum and bass Offworld Recordings has you covered. Everything on the spectrum from deep space journeys to liquid atmospheric, and to out and out floor fillers!!!
Shamik is a long time friend of mine and to say the least an absolutely amazing artist and friend. He is definitely one of the most passionate people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and that passion comes through constantly in his craft. His drive for hard work is seldom equaled by his peers and I know this first hand. Trying to keep up with him and his push for moving forward have often felt like the tortoise and the hare, me being the tortoise of course. I have nothing but the most complimentary things to say about Shamik and it seems as though 99% of people that encounter him have similar feelings. He emits an energy that is beyond positive so I encourage anyone who crosses paths with him to say at the very least a quick hello, it will brighten your day! So without further delay I turn to Nomadic Injections... This is Shamiks second full length LP and one that I have had the pleasure of producing 2 tracks for [one with jake roberts as Knight Riderz]. The album was recorded in 5 countries and 3 languages, over the course of 3 years. It covers a wide variety of genres including glitch, dubstep, hip hop, and of course acappella. This is by far the best recorded synopsis of Shamik as an artist to date. From the dance floor killers "Focus" and "Light It Up" to the head bobbin hiphop joints "Break It Down" and "Jam" to the more introspective pieces "A Little Room" and "Lost" this is a 360 inside and out, upside and down tour of Shamik at his best. Go and buy this now! Honestly the best ten spot youll ever drop.
For all of you out there in the blogosphere who arent as familiar with Shamik, read on!

They say sleep is the cousin of death and clearly Shamik makes no time for such things. So I truly urge you to follow suit and not sleep on one of Canadas greatest artists.

Also simply amazing on the complete opposite side of the amazing scale! While the previous post is something your grandma could probably vibe on, this is something she should probably never see. This video is not cool for work or for kids, so if your at work or 14 get outta hurrrr!
So here we are on a balmy Saturday morning... Well, it's actually kinda chilly and about 3am local time.
For the rest of you slackers who are waking up around 10am in our fair city to a cut scene from Silent Hill. (http://www.edmontonjournal.com/news/3422540.bin) Feel free to rejoice in the sweet anthems of Grafix.
I was introduced to this phenomenal producer by his collaborations with Fred V; Liquid DnB seems to be a sure fire item around the Oh Snap boys these days and Fred V seems to have been pivotal in anchoring the sound in our hearts.
Expect big things towards the end of this year from the collaborations of Fred V and Grafix. They are proof that Liquid is packing serious heat beyond Camo, Krooked and Netsky.
This track packaged with "One of these Days" is shaping up to be my most anticipated release of the fall. Watch out!
I just can't get enough of this track and now there's a video to match?! Redlight feat. Ms Dynamite - What you Talkin about. Yeee! This made my Wednesday!
Jeremy AKA (Dope Creature) is a Producer/Dj from the deep dark south of the prairies. He arrived in Edmonton 4 years earlier with 3 other musicians who called themselves (Dope CreatureS). At the time of his arrival Jeremy was more of a drummer/guitarist than anything. His band wanted merge electronic music with acoustic instruments. After a few years of trying, he got more and more involved in strickly electronic music production...dropped the (S), and here we are. Producing Breakbeat/Dubstep, there seems to be no end in sight. With a breaks E.P. around the corner Dope Creature has dropped everything to focus on the music. Improving daily on production, as well on the decks...much more music is on the way.
Here is 2 tracks and 2 mixes for your listening pleasure:
