This super group is just that, SUPER! They show no signs of stopping and with every new bit I hear from them I get more and more into their sound. This to me is huge because Im not the biggest fan of any of these individuals solo but when they come together to form like Voltron in the shape of the one and only MAGNETIC MAN there is no stopping them! Their latest effort with the vocals of Katy B is called "Perfect Stranger". This has anthem written all over it! Listen and love below.
The weekend has come to an end. Big thanks to everyone who made it out to the Dubstep vs. Jungle show at starlite featuring 16 bit! The night was a huge success and the Oh Snap crew threw it down as always!! Now for some new beats to make monday seem a little sweeter!
Magnetic Man did an essential mix for Radio1 the other day. It's a little heavy for my taste at times.. but there are definitely some quality tracks in it as well. Anyway, take a listen and decide for yourself what you think!
Moving along.. we have a two sided mixtape from French electro producer Brodinski. Have yet to listen to the electro side, but the hip hop side is dope. Read the description below!
"Brodi’s newest endeavour is ‘The Best Of Everything’, a two-paged love letter to music delivered in the shape of a free mixtape. On side B, the natural born DJ delivers a hard-hitting techno set, showing of his finesse and seemingly effortless flexibility. On side A, however, we hear him furiously cutting and pasting between hip-hop and old school rap – this collaboration with his good friend DJ Orgasmic shows a different side of the so-called techno prodigy. “I love hip-hop, there’s so much good productions coming out, every day I discover something exciting"
After much sifting through newspapers and online postings, I finally got a new job! Yippy!
Do we all really understand what this means? It means that Ten-O can start buying music again! Starting from the top of my music search, I turned to my favorite artists for fresh, enticing sounds.
A classic favorite of mine is a gentleman out of San Fran. producing under the guise of Knowa Knowone, or 2K on his blaring remixes. Really, this guy seems to be firing on all cylinders these days. His tunes are deep, layered and funky, all done with catchy licks that get the dance floor stomping.
Providing his touch in the realms of Dubstomp and Glitch, I present to you, Knowa Knowone!
Nadastrom is bringin the car rockin party vibes once again. Check out their new mix chalk full of the freshest Moombahton and dancehall tracks around. WTF is Moombahton you ask? Did Dave Nada actually invent this sound? Here's a wiki description for you music nerds out there if you really need to know.
Bil Bless has been killing the glitch scene for a while now and for good reason. He has a super unique and interesting sound. He's been kind enough to put up his whole new album up for free download here
He's also started a thread on the glitch hop forum answering various questions people have about him related to production which is definitely worth checking out here

If you're reading this, you've made it half way through the week. CONGRATULATIONS! Now get down to Brixx for some cheap wings, beer, and heavy bass. If you're not in Edmonton, here are some tunes to get you through the remainder of the week :)
For the d&b heads... lyrical madness and a sick beat. What more could you ask for?
Bonus: Digital Sound Boy brings us this MASSIVE remix of Magnetic Man's "I Need Air"
heard this tune a few weeks ago while listening to the Kastle Essential Studio mix. I'm in love. So catchy. Kastle is an american producer whom I've been quite impressed with lately. His characteristic low, gut wrenching basslines alongside nice vocals and complex melodies make for a real treat for the ears :)
Camera Phone - Kastle
Not to mention his latest bangers
Blue Mar Ten - Nobodys Here (Kastle Remix)
Better Off Alone - Kastle
HEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVY! Flux Pavillion will be hittin' the decks here in Edmonton in August. Get your bass faces ready!
Fort Knox 5. Straight killin it! The brand new video for the single SHIFT featuring Afrika Bambaataa & Mustafa Akbar from the compilation The New Gold Standard 2 (FKX028) is right here for you to peep in all its glory. However first heres a little inside info to get ya'll hungry!
The 2009 Inaugural weekend saw massive celebrations in Washington, DC and worldwide. The legendary Afrika Bambaataa, who helped launch the hip-hop generation with hits like “Planet Rock” and “Searching for the Perfect Beat” was in town to celebrate the historic moment. While Barack Obama was being sworn in as President, the Fort Knox Five teamed up with electro-funk innovator Afrika Bambaataa and Mustafa Akbar to create the funk anthem “Shift.” Originally released on the 2009 compilation The New Gold Standard 2, “Shift” has been reinvented in both audio and visual form.
The groundbreaking music video for “Shift” is the result of months of work by directors Stu Mackay-Smith and DJ Ball. Combining live action filmed in HD Oakley Red with sharp animation, the production team called in world famous action sports cinematographer Christian Begin to capture Vancouver’s Now or Never B-Boy crew, the Hybrid Movement Parkour crew, Stunt Coordinator Jason Hardabura, and go-go dancers Ace Mackay-Smith aka the Foxy Moron, Nessa V, and Jina Anika. Additional filming by Adam Mackay-Smith, Colin Mcgreal and Robin Bell. Prepare to be blown away by an audio-visual experience of interstellar funk and esoteric imagery. The video even features an exclusive John Langdon created Fort Knox Five ambigram.
Credits are as follows... Go outside...I don't care where you go or what you do, just go. You have that song that puts you in a good mood, its probably on your ipod right now, so turn it on and go outside. Bike, walk, play, skateboard, just sit in your back yard...you'll realize that you've forgotten how nice fresh air is to breathe.
Fred V at the age of 20 is one of the leading up and coming drum and bass producers with a massive resume and working on tracks with labels such as Talkin' beatz, Ape Music, All Street Recordings and Bassdrive Tunes. He has already gained support from the scenes leading djs including Grooverider (BBC Radio1), Danny Byrd (Hospital Records), Netsky, Mutated Forms and more.. Fred shows no signs of slowing down and is one to watch in 2010 and beyond.. Keep it locked!!
Mr. Kenny Meez of Philadelphia's Federation Sound comes more then correct on this remix of Major Lazers "Cant Stop Now". The original tune features Mr. Vegas and Jovi Rockwell. Kenny Meez keeps the vocals intact and drops a nice little riddim under the tune slightly leaning more toward the bashment side of things to keep the dance hot.
This Ms Dynamite is blowin' up my speakers big time right now! Ms Dynamite (originally known as Lady Dynamite) has been in and out of the spotlight since 2002. She was first known for her vocals on the UK garage track "Booo!". She's also released "A Little Deeper" in 2002 and "Judgement Days" in 2005. In 2006 her explosive temper had her arrested for punching a male police officer in the face whilst in custody. She then quickly disappeared from the public eye. A few years later she decided dabble in UK reality television but one's got to admit it that her musical career is probably far better than appearing on "Hell's Kitchen", although I'm sure she could make a mean risotto.
