If you listen to dubstep then you've more than likely heard of Enigma. He's the guy who brought you the oh-so-haunting remix of hide and seek. If you haven't heard it, check it out. Anyway, this British producer has been in the game for four years now and is currently signed to Bigger Than Barry Records. I think it's safe to say he's on his way to a promising career.
This JUST in. Major Lazer's newest mixtape with La Roux! Finding a gem like this amongst Diplo's constant tweets, makes my life worth living. I think the guy lives in a bubble sometimes with the amount of tweeting that goes on, but that's another story. Take a listen to this gem and be ready to have this on rotation for your all summer shakin' and chillin' needs.

Officially one of the local 780's top females behind the decks Wadjit is no stranger to the lime light and bassline resonance. She has flexed her skills alongside Illgates, An-Ten-Nae, Rusko, and many others. She is a fiend for the dubstep, lover of dnb, and has a weakness for glitch and all other mid tempo bass music. This is her first mix for public consumption and its a certified banger to say the least. Roll up a fat one, blaze down and press play.

The brand new Rusko LP "OMG" has just dropped on Diplo's Mad Decent label. The 14 track selection has the dub steppin chin strokers all wound up proclaiming "sell out", "full of cheese", and "mainstream shite!" to quote a few of the more repeated comments Ive seen. However I have to whole heartedly disagree! This LP is nothing short or brilliant! Lets start from the end and work our way backwards...
District Line is as dubby as they come backed by a wicked brass lead cool out vibe perfect for any occasion that comes with sun. My Mouth along with I Love You, and one of my personal favorites Ravers Special all see Rusko take dubstep forward and backwards all at once with a strong influence of talk boxing funk. I dont hear anyone else making dubstep quite like this right now and its incredibly refreshing. Moving on Kumon Kumon is lead by manic old school rave stabs, chopped and screwed amens, and some perfectly pitched up vocal samples imagining this is Ruskos ode to growing up in and around UK rave culture. Then we have his touring MC MR. Rod Azlan touch down on the uplifting dubwise vibes of Rub A Dub Shakedown, although a little auto tune is present the rest of the elements of the song make you instantly forgive. Righteous vibes reign supreme on this tune and is nothing short of a rub a dub anthem! Then to top it all off the rest of the songs feature collabos with Crookers, Ben Westbeech, Gucci Mane, and Amber Coffman whom Id site all as good company to be keeping.
So yes Ill agree this isnt your normal dubstep affair but who would want it to be? Rusko is in the position in the industry he is for a reason. He has an extremely strong vision that most other dubstep curators cant fathom. A vision for keeping a movement which he was essential in starting, moving forward. He has learned alot from watching the downfalls of UK born sister genre Drum & Bass. Determined not to follow on the negative sides of her foot steps Rusko is truly dubsteps super hero! Dedicated to fighting the evil forces of monotonous dark wobbles and uninspired non melodic "tracks".
Samples is a bad man no doubt and has been killing the bass music world for a min. Hailing from Boulder Colorado, his style is crunk glitch-hop, complete with bass-heavy remixes of your favorite club anthems and hip hop. His professional DJ career started in 2006 when he picked up a weekly radio show for Boulder's KVCU. For his current performance, Samples is blending both hip hop and dance music into a hybrid club hip hop sound that is redefining genres. Samples is a member of the Denver Bass Squad, which is the essential crew that pushes the heavy bass-line scene in the Denver/Boulder area, including a residency at the world-famous Beta night club.
His brand new Snowstorm EP is some of the best bass heavy music on tap right now. It just dropped on Daly City and instantly took over the addictech charts.
Heres a bonus mini mix he did of the EP. Seriously put this in the player of your choice and hit repeat.
